If you’ve found your way here, the first thing I’d like to say is THANK YOU SO MUCH for checking out my new site.
If you know me, then you also likely know that I used to be in a HipHop duo called “Awfbeat”. Unfortunately, our current circumstances have caused the group effort to be put on pause until further notice.
Life be life-ing and independent creative evolution is a natural part of our human experience, so it’s all good. Don’t fret.
With that being said, I am a creative at heart. A maker. And therefore, no force will ever stop me from expressing myself and sharing those forms of expression with you.
“Kenbelish” is a new chapter, and most importantly, it’s all me over here. 2000% my hands, my thoughts, and my creative ecosystem. And also, Kenbelish is the people who have been and will be responsible for the person I become in the future.
The word “Kenbelish” is an act of adornment through the apparatus of one’s cultural pride and emphasizes the parts of someone or something that make it whole and unique.
When you and I work together, my goal is to “Kenbelish” you: to take your story, your message, your passion and infuse it into the vessel you deem appropriate whether it’s word, symbol, scene, or all three.
Now that I’ve set the stage for you, there wouldn’t be a “Music” section on this site if I didn’t have sounds to share. Just because you haven’t heard my voice via a streaming service in a while, doesn’t mean I ever stopped creating. Truthfully, I’ve put together multiple bodies of work in the past few years, but I always question whether or not they represent where I am now as a human and as an artist. I want y’all to grow with me as this music thing expands, and the first step towards that goal is not holding back anymore. So… I have something for you.
Before I designed this site, my mentor went through all of the worthwhile songs that I had made since early 2023. After listening to everything, he pointed out one particular song as the turning point in my artistic journey. On this song, he said I had, “figured out my sound” and whenever I had listened to this song on my own, my spirit resonated with it in a completely different way than a lot of other songs I had made up until then.
The song is called, “SamLeoFisher”, named after the protagonist of Splinter Cell. The song is unmixed, unmastered, and produced by me. I hope you enjoy it as foreshadowing for the kinds of sonics to expect from my solo HipHop endeavors.
